Collectors! Cab lovers! Bordeaux bounty hunters! Old-school Napa Valley cabernet and Bordeaux blend aficionados, and, well, anyone who loves simply classic, layered, rich, complex, bold, and enduring RUTHERFORD mega-reds – today is your day! ESPECIALLY if you love it at OVER 60% OFF what the rest of the world pays, with 96 and 94 POINT scores to boot! Oh, happy day!
Seriously, you’d pay $130 today at the winery for EACH BOTTLE! But here? With us? Less than $100 will get you...BOTH!!! Now, I may have flunked fifth-grade math, but that seems like a pretty KILLER deal! Sullivan has been quietly making big bad cabernet sauvignons and merlots since the 70s, from excellent fruit in the beating heart of Rutherford. (That’s where this name comes from..."Coeur de Vigne" = "heart of the vine", see?) This blend is comprised of the best of the best, without a recipe or formula – the best blend of whatever the estate has to offer. The long-time family estate founded by Jim O’Neil Sullivan in 1972 only sold direct, mostly to family and friends, for much of its history – thus remaining off-the-radar, yet eagerly pursued by Napa Valley collectors, Rutherford Dust-heads, and other aficionados. The estate today is now run by Juan Pablo Torres Padilla – a long-time fan of the Sullivan Estate intent on rejuvenating it to even greater heights. A new winery broke ground in 2019, and the facilities, vineyards, and hospitality center have all received a nice influx of modernization – to great effect! The style of the wines are as CLASSIC as ever – structured, layered, deeply rich but never lacquered or flashy...this is quintessential Rutherford and primed to age and develop (and drink like absolute CHAMPS) for decades to come!!!
The 2019? Just what you’d dream of in a top-notch 94 POINT Rutherford cabernet sauvignon – dusty cherries, black olive tapenade, blackberries, baked plums, porcini mushrooms, blackened earth, graphite...DANG! Serious structure and depth on the finish – this is all iron first, with a pleated steel gauntlet, carrying a tungsten morningstar. Need I say...NOT-FOR-THE-SHY!!!
And 2020? The 96 POINT Wine Enthusiast GEM of a wine!? More merlot than cabernet, but plenty of both (plus cab franc and petit verdot), and an inky, powerful facade that will make more than a few POMEROLS tremble. This is satanically dark and brooding, with black plums, and black cherries carrying the fruit, and a savory, meaty, coffee and mocha character taking it all to Jules Verne-level depths. Brilliant acidity gives this life, and a hidden floral note of lilacs comes out over time in the glass. EPIC stuff – and another utterly classic Rutherford offering! Read the critical praise below – but trust me – in a few years, when you see these in the prized library section of your favorite local wine shop…you’re gonna wish you got more from us! At this PRICE??? INCONCEIVABLE!!!
We’ll compile the week’s orders, and ship ‘em out your way beginning Tuesday 11/28…so you can build a case (or three) of glorious Last Bottle vino! Please allow a little extra time!
** FYI to Alaska and Hawaii: your shipping costs will be calculated by order volume at the end of the week.

About The Producer
Jim Sullivan, a graphic designer known for his works with 1960s icons such as The Monkees and Dick Clark, began making wine at home. His skills and passion grew over years, until he decided to set out for the finest location to grow Cabernet Sauvignon. He landed in Rutherford, on the border of Rancho Caymus and Rancho Carne Humana. Jim founded Sullivan in 1972, on what was the family farm of the Galleron brothers. Sullivan fell into new Family ownership in 2018, and is now led by a team of some of the most skilled winemaking and hospitality pros in the biz, who are guided by Jim’s artistic vision and the estate he created during his lifetime.
