Dolum Estates Proprietary Red Cask #11 Sonoma Mountain 2018 - Last Bottle

Dolum Estates Proprietary Red Cask #11 Sonoma Mountain 2018

Ok…technically, TECHNICALLY…this is a “Proprietor’s Red” and not a cabernet. But seriously...ONE single percent more and this is a cabernet sauvignon. And with 9% of this cabernet hailing from the 40+-year-old vines of their Oakville estate…shouldn’t that count for an extra 1%?! It does in my book at least. But let’s not waste time on such trivialities! 94 POINTS! Publisher’s Choice selection! And yes…all for less than one single Andrew Jackson. That’s insane by any measure – and this is just the sort of madness I embrace wholeheartedly! We burnt through our cache of the 2019 like wildfire – and then scored a bit more that sold out again – so DON’T WAIT.

Did you do the math yet? You can buy this today, on the winery’s website for $82…but here? At ground zero of the world’s best wine deals? Try OVER 76% OFF!!! I mean, C’MON!!! Pick your jaw up off the floor, wipe that drool running down your chin, and add a case to your cart already!!

From the hillside slopes of Sonoma Mountain, and crafted by renowned Mountain Fruit specialist Chad Alexander, this is a masterful stroke worthy of Tiger Woods at Augusta National. Entrancing aromas of the flowery nature – lavender, lilacs, a bit of peony for good measure…just thrilling. Then rush after oncoming rush of blackberries, and black plums, with currants, and black cherries, raspberries, with a hearty splash of fresh roasted coffee, some damp forest floor accents, and a mineral, iron, and graphite twinge to give you this incredibly long and silky finish! Wowee, is this good! Nearly 6 years young makes this absolutely FIRING right now, with easily another decade-plus to enjoy the heck out of this fine, godly ambrosia. Why? Why are you still here? Go, good people, fly, leap, and bowl over your grandma if you must…just get this!

**Don’t worry, mom. Just like the 2019 Cask 11 you loved so much...I secured you a case. Spoiler alert: it’s your Mother’s Day present.**

Dolum has become a Napa and Sonoma gamechanger since they came out of nowhere to burst on the scene a few years back, With the mountain specialist, geology-obsessed Chad Alexander making the wines – they showcase the perfect balance of terroir, careful blending, and powerfully decadent expressions of modern California red wines.

About The Producer

In addition to careful sourcing from vineyard partners across Napa and Sonoma, Dolum also produces wine from a low-yielding 40+-year-old vineyard on Oakville crossroad in the eastern side of the AVA. The vineyard was originally planted in 1979 and typically sneaks into almost every blend they make. Today, second and third-generation family members meticulously tend the vines, while traditional winemaking and maturation in French oak have ensured a complex, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant portfolio of wines that will reward long-term cellaring.
