Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve Knights Valley 2019 - Last Bottle

Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve Knights Valley 2019

WE’RE NOT WORTHY!

Ah, phoooey, of course we are!! So are you, you lovely, amazing, vinously-inclined human!! Today, we turn the wine world upside-down again (for a time), heels-over-head, destroying every notion of what you should be paying for Beringer Reserve from their Knights Valley vineyard…as long as it lasts, that is….

We are hopping and pogo-ing all over the warehouse parking lot with pure joy – hot off the press, utterly delicious, and jam-packed. 2019 is an incredible vintage (these are just starting to be released and MAMA), and should be acquired with all rapidity. Beringer! Established in 1876! KVR Reserve, no less! AT THIS PRICE? We should re-think this, maybe...anyway (*swirls and sips*)...as we’re well into our second glass, let us tell you of its many charms…BUT – we’ll be brief…there’s not much, don’t wanna get too frenzied up! Vinous 92 points!

“Luxurious” is what comes to mind right away. The perfume of lavender and spice and mocha is filling up this office. It’s rich and intense, with tons of fine texture and structure, while keeping it sexy and luscious. It opens and changes with time in the glass, showing you different sides, and just keeps getting better. Just outrageous stuff at our bonkers price. What else can we say other than…..HURRY!! Major sellout alert!

“WE’VE BEEN HERE SINCE THE BEGINNING, BUT WE'RE ALSO NEVER GOING TO STOP ACTING LIKE THE PIONEERS THAT WE ARE.”

– RYAN RECH, CHIEF WINEMAKER

Beringer Vineyards has owned and farmed its Knights Valley vineyards since the mid-1960s, when the Beringer family recognized that the cobbled, rocky alluvial soils were a great place to grow high quality wine grapes. The Knights Valley designation was first used on a Beringer label in 1974. Beringer was instrumental in garnering official recognition for the area in 1983 as a premier wine growing region in the form of its own American Viticulture Area (AVA) designation.

This approachable and delicious Cabernet Sauvignon is a generous Bordeaux blend, with soft and silky tannins and a plush, full mouth-feel. Although this wine is built to age and develop further complexity, the generous and juicy upfront fruit makes it extremely enjoyable in its youth. Aromas of dried herbs, lavender, fresh boysenberry and lanolin join flavors of dark fruit led by figs, black cherry, and currants. The pronounced oak spice notes work well with the more traditional Knights Valley tones of black olive, wild sage and mocha. The wine is well-balanced with good acidity, structured tannins and a superbly elegant finish.

About The Producer

Beringer is known for establishing many 'firsts' as leaders in the wine industry. We were one of the first gravity fed facilities and among the first to operate using hand-dug caves and cellars. We were the first to give public tours in 1934, starting a Napa Valley hospitality tradition. We are the first and only winery to have both a red and a white wine named #1 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator Magazine.

Passion has the wonderful power to turn mere objects into an obsession, to transform everyday tasks into art. At Beringer, we have been living our passion for 145 years.
