Harwood Hall Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2015 - Last Bottle

Harwood Hall Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2015

As everyone knows, you have to drink Sauvignon Blanc. Like water, Beastie Boys CDs, tacos, and racquetball, it is essential for human life to continue. So why pay $22 for a 90-point rated New Zealand bottle of crisp and zesty goodness? PAY HALF THAT! Do all your important shopping here at Last Bottle -- hey, maybe we’ll start selling $1 tacos, too!

“This is an intense wine with some elegant softness. It is fruity and fresh, lively, with fresh herbs, citrus and peach notes. The length is full and vibrant and balances beautifully with the lively acidity present.”

I mean, we can’t argue with one word of Decanter’s writeup -- one thing we WILL say is that it is on the nicely tropical side of NZ Sauv Blanc, less of that green-ness that sometimes rules these wines. It’s juicy, lip-smacking, citrusy-zippy and hits all the satisfaction buttons --- especially the whoppingly awesome PRICE button!! Right?? How do we do it?

So -- go get some carnitas tacos and crack this open with no delay. We promise life will instantly be improved. BUT!! Ya gotta go quick...we don’t have much of this to go around…while it lasts…!

Grown on selected vineyards in Marlborough, this wine was vinified in several small stainless steel tanks with the focus on producing bright lifted fruit complimented by a light herbal edge. All of which is balanced on the palate by a crisp acidity and good concentration of fruit across the mid and back palate.

About The Producer

Harwood Hall arose when two winemakers and their families joined forces to pursue their passion for wine. Digger Hennessy, former Chief Winemaker Mt Riley, had a vineyard and wanted to make wine with his own fruit. He also wanted to create a great lifestyle for his wife Deb and their kids. Corey Hall, former Chief Winemaker at Matua, already had his own business with his wife Meg, producing wines under the Gem label. However, they wanted to add another brand to the portfolio.

Digger and Corey had known each other for years, dating back from when Digger offered Corey his first winemaking job in 1996. Joining forces allowed them to pool their resources and add another level of expertise and energy to the enterprise. Their aim was to produce top quality New Zealand wines that were affordable and approachable. They established Hennessy Hall Wine Co in 2008 as a consultant winemaking and viticulture business, as well as producer of Harwood Hall wines.
