Marimar Estate Pinot Noir Mas Cavalls Dona Margarita Vineyard Sonoma Coast 2014 - Last Bottle

Marimar Estate Pinot Noir Mas Cavalls Dona Margarita Vineyard Sonoma Coast 2014

Man, don’t even ask us how we pulled this one off -- it’s hard enough to get ANY wine from Marimar Estate from ANY vintage, much less a 91-POINTER at nearly 45% OFF! This is lush, silky, simply BEAUTIFUL, feminine and powerful, delicious pinot!!

Dang! This just shined like a beacon on a foggy night in our tasting last week -- one of those wines that crushes everything else on the table and gets downed at record speed by the staff as soon as we clear out (what’s a better testament than that??). Boom, sign us up! Hailing from a cool-climate vineyard on the Bohemian Highway, between Freestone and Occidental in the Sonoma Coast appellation, the yields are low and the quality is high...as you’ll taste. Round, lush, superbly balanced, this just feels, well, CLASSY, full of finesse and complexity. AT THIS PRICE?!

Instructions:

Receive box.

Rip open.

Fumble in anticipation with corkscrew and get that cork out ASAP.

Pour. Whiff. Smile. Sip. Bask in pinot euphoria. Feel the tension in your muscles melt away.

Easy-peasy. Super-limited..!

Engaging aromas of raspberry jam, blueberries and cassis, plus a background of forest floor classic from this vineyard. On the palate is it round, complex and well balanced, with firm tannins that promise a long life. I would recommend serving it at cellar temperature, between 58-60° F.

About The Producer

Nestled in the rolling hills of western Sonoma County, the Russian River/Green Valley appellation is a perfect microclimate for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Only 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 50 miles north of San Francisco, the site is influenced by the sea's cooling breezes and drifting fog. That is why Marimar Torres selected this privileged location to "export" the Torres family legacy of fine wines to California.
