Inspired by the age-old method of using cuttings from idyllic sites for the propagation of new vines, this Cabernet Sauvignon showcases some of our favorite hillside vineyards. Cuttings combines the deep, intense flavor of Cabernet Sauvignon with the structure and richness of Petite Sirah and Syrah. A small amount of Zinfandel adds a nice layer of complexity and spiciness.

About The Producer

The producer works closely with these growers to produce this fantastic wine:

BELLA VISTA VINEYARD – CALISTOGA, CA
Cabernet Sauvignon loves a view, and the vines at Bella Vista Vineyard overlook the town of Calistoga while Mount St. Helena is visible throughout the ranch. Planted over 30 years ago by Bob and Jackie Hayes, the vines show a maturity that can be rare to find in Napa Valley hillsides. Still today, Jackie and her daughters have kept this a family affair. Since this vineyard is located on the western side of the Napa Valley, it benefits from the early morning sun and a cooler afternoon as the sun dips behind the mountains, creating berries full of flavor and fine tannins.

TEMPLE VINEYARD – CALISTOGA, CA
Farming has been a part of the Temple Family for four generations dating back to East Texas in the late 1800’s. At that time, they were one of the first businesses to sustainably manage and farm timber. Sustainable farming practices have been at the core of their values, resulting in a number of awards for their conservation and farming practices. The Temple Family expanded their footprint to Napa in 1987, purchasing hillside land with vineyards just east of the Silverado Trail.

SAGE CANYON - NAPA VALLEY, CA
In the early 1990s, Pat Kuleto (culinary entrepreneur) purchased 761 acres of rugged terrain in the mountains of Eastern Napa Valley. Overlooking Lake Hennessey, Pritchard Hill and the towns of Rutherford and St. Helena.  This special property happened to consist of a variety of soils, exquisite growing conditions and high-altitude rolling vineyards to craft world-class wines.
